Mr. Malden said that he knew he was destined to portray character roles, but he was determined to do them to the best of his abilities. Like the street sweeper in the MLK jr speech. Mr. Oscar obviously concurred!</description>

Karl Maulden was an actor&#039;s actor... a solid &quot;everyman&quot; who knew how to work that nose. Who can ever forget his Oscar winning performance, opposite Marlon Brando and Vivian Leigh, in &lt;i&gt;A Streetcar Named Desire?&lt;/i&gt; Or his cringe-worthy turn as sweaty pedophile in &lt;i&gt;Babydoll?&lt;/i&gt;

He was not &quot;The King of Pop,&quot; but he was someone you wanted to call &quot;Pop.&quot; Karl certainly deserves a grand sendoff, and you have created one from sheer imagination. Well done sir!</description>
