I never heard the original speech, so I wasn’t sure if they were just taking excerpts or if it actually read like that. It actually did sound like poetry! Anyway, this was funny the first night. Last night, I thought it was a bit lame. And Shatner should get some glasses or something.
I didn’t see the show last night, but you’re right– Shatner should have worn his glasses on this one at least. Colbert had a good take on the speech as well, where he pulled random phrases out of a hat. I just put this video up as sort of a test posting, but it expires in 20 days or so and the video goes away.
Last night he read a series of her tweets, or excerpts therefrom. I mean, nobody’s tweets are intended to amount to much, so there really isn’t much humor or political satire in making fun of them.
