TECHNICAL UPDATE 8:55 PDT: I had to eliminate the new (and apparently buggy) slide show feature. The pictures still click through to a larger version, but I’m afraid you’ll have to hit the BACK arrow on your browser now. Not as elegant but at least everyone should be able to see them now.
LOS ANGELES – The B.L.O.G.-CISCO SYSTEMS web statistics analyzer reported a large blip in the hits last week here on Boring Load Of Garbage. It didn’t take long to discover the majority of the bump was coming from this game show chat forum. I followed the link back to the source and saw that a forum member, bwood, had discovered my post about The Price Is Right logo facelift. His post and the ensuing comments were not only flattering to me (thank you, board members), but were chock-full of graduate-level research observations about game show graphics and play. If there were such a thing as Doctor of Philosophy – Game Show Studies, these folks would all have their PhDs.
I particularly liked their virtual offers of food items: “Four Spaghetti Cat points”, “a bowl of chicken tetrazinni”, “And don’t forget a side of sweeeet potato (Oprah’s ‘favorite’)”, and I would like to virtually accept them. Thank you. In return, I humbly offer a gallery of the making of The Price Is Right set elements from the summer of 2007. Feel free to weigh in with any observations or questions. I’m working hard here at trying to get on staff at a late night comedy show or daytime chat show with a comedy component, but I can always use a diversion. Yogi Berra said “When you get to a fork in the road, take it.” One never knows where that fork will lead. Welcome, gameshow.ipbhost.com and also you, golden-road.net (love the banner graphics!)
